Presented to 8 “authorized” dealers, three of them looked at it,the other 5 didn’t want to, they just made offers.
Maximum Verbal offer received : $465 (Below Gold Spot/melt). This confirmed the industry’s inability to value unique RCM prototype errors outside of private treaty auctions.

The Coin That Shouldn’t Exist :
if my theory is correct, this could be a missing prototype from a test run of several specimens as the worn out die was falling apart,the lot was supposed to go to the smelter, but in a mix up, this one got shipped out in 1998, if their records show the “error” prototype lot was destroyed in 1998, they (the RCM) may have destroyed a perfect coin in it’s place

i did go to the 5 thru 7 show in Baltimore 2026
and let’s just say! it was interesting & eye opening to say the least…i will post my experience at a later date
